Ciara Dwyer
Ciara Dwyer attends the Miami Valley School. Her extra-curricular activities include volunteering at the Dayton International Peace Museum, serving as assistant manager at Creekside Cyclery, and lifeguarding.

At school she is a Student Government representative, a member of the French Honor Society, vice-president of the Music Club, and runs on the cross country and track teams.

Ciara shared her health issues in her essay that have complicated her swimming progress, but she emphasized gratitude for the tremendous support she received from teammates and coaches.

Ciara will continue swimming at St. Bonaventure University, where she plans to study biology and psychology.

Maddie Nixon
Maddie Nixon goes to St. Ursula Academy and has been extremely busy in and out of school.

In addition to the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society, Maddie is a St. Ursula Ambassador, a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House and the Paralymic Swim Meet, a lifeguard and swim instructor, and serves as president on the Cincinnati Marlins Athlete Leadership Committee.

In her letter of recommendation, Maddie's science teacher describes Maddie as "not only accomplished and hardworking, but also warm, humble, and deeply respected by her peers and teachers."

Maddie has committed to swim at Washington and Lee, with a major in business administration and a minor in data science.

Alex Nixon
Alex Nixon stays involved at St. Xavier High School on their Campus Ministry Teamleading retreats, as a homeroom leader, and a member of the National Honor Society, the Spanish National Honor Society, and the percussion and concert bands.

Outside of school, Alex is a lifeguard, a volunteer with the Cincinnati Parks Service, a soccer referee, and treasurer of the Cincinnati Marlins Athlete Committee.

In his letter of recommendation, Alex's band director states that Alex "displays maturity and compassion, often not found in his peers."

Alex plans to continue swimming at the College of Holy Cross, majoring in political science.

Matilda Prizler
Matilda Prizler is from Oakwood High School. She has already been accepted and will swim for New York University; she's undecided in what area her major will be.

Current school activities include: National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Oakwood Knitting & Crocheting Club-making blankets for the NICU, and the Principal/Superintendent’s Advisory Board.

Outside of school, Matilda is an Ohio Swimming Athlete Representative, Lifeguard Manager at the Kettering Tennis Center and volunteers at Kettering’s Safety Village.

As a freelance artist, she was commissioned to do a line drawing piece for the Dayton Foundation, and she also does graphite portraits.

In his letter of recommendation, her employer states that Matilda "demonstrates leadership and citizenship for employees, members, and children to emulate."

Caeden Woeste
Caeden Woeste is homeschooled and swims for Little Miami High School.

His extracurricular activities include serving on the Ohio Swimming Athlete Executive Committee, volunteering at Matthew 25 Ministries, mission trips for his church, assisting elderly neighbors, and Tae Kwan Do.

In his letter of recommendation, Caeden's coach states that "what defines Caeden is steady leadership in the face of high stress and adversity that no one plans for."

Caeden will attend Carson-Newman University to major in business administration.

Evan Zhou
Evan Zhou attends Talawanda High School. He has applied to Cornell, Miami of Ohio, the University of Michigan, and hopes to attend The Ohio State University to major in pre-med and anthropology.

Evan is a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Oxford Aquatic Center. He is a member of his school's Art and Diversity Clubs.

Evan's extracurricular activities were especially meaningful to him because they took him to U.C. and the University of Michigan for STEM Programs and Career Shadowing opportunities.

In his letter of recommendation, his lifeguard supervisor shared how parents frequently expressed appreciation for Evan's calm demeanor and positive influence, noting how his encouragement helped children gain confidence in the water.
