Jarrett Payne

2022-2023 Season

Jarrett Payne is the 2023 recipient of The Poseidon Award presented by swimmeet.com to the top male high school swimmer in Ohio for the 2022-2023 season based on the Power Points 100.

Jarrett will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from swimmeet.com.

Jarrett is a Junior at Sidney High School, a Scholar Athlete with a GPA of 4.324 and currently ranked 4/221 in his class. He has been a college credit plus student at Edison the past two years. He is class president and a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club.

Jarrett is a remarkable, goal oriented swimmer, able to do all 8 individual events extremely well. He is the school record holder of all but 1 individual event (50 Freestyle) and part of 2 relay records (200 Medely Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay). He is humble and continues to strive to better himself. He is respectful and compassionate with fellow swimmers, he wants them to be better also. Jarrett is always willing and able to share his knowledge with other swimmers.

Jarrett has competed at the state tournament every year of high school with multiple podium spots. He is a USA swimming scholastic All-American. He has achieved multiple junior national cuts, and is an All American in the 200 IM. He represents Springfield (SPY) Family YMCA for club swimming (both YMCA and USA).

Jarrett has been employed as a lifeguard and swim instructor at the Sidney-Shelby County YMCA for two years. He enjoys video gaming and is an active volunteer in his school & community. He also enjoys attending other sporting events to cheer on his fellow classmates.

Jarrett is the son of Jeff and Wendy Payne, Sidney Ohio.
