Emily Brown

The Amphitrite Award

2023-2024 Season

Emily Brown is the 2024 recipient of The Amphitrite Award presented by swimmeet.com to the top female high school swimmer in Ohio for the 2023-2024 season based on the Power Points 100.

This is Emily's second Amphitrite award.

Emily will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from swimmeet.com.

Emily is a Senior at Dublin Coffman High School. She is an 8-time OHSAA D1 High School State Champion. She swept the 200 and 500 Freestyle events in 2021, 2022 and 2023. She switched over to 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly for the 2023-24 Championship Season. At the State Meet, she captured Gold and broke the State, Pool and Meet Records in both events.

Emily is the current HS State, Meet and Pool record holder in the 200 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley and 100 Butterfly. She also holds Ohio District Records in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle. In addition, the '23-'24 Team Captain holds the Dublin Coffman High School records in the following events: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle, 500 Freestyle, 200 Individual Medley, 100 Backstroke and 100 Butterfly.

Emily has competed from coast to coast in high level National Meets for years. Most recently she competed at the 2023 Phillips 66 Nationals Championships at IUPUI. After graduation, she will compete in the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials where she will swim the 200 Butterfly and 200 Individual Medley.

In addition to excelling in the pool, she is a 4-time Scholastic All-American keeping a GPA of 3.9. She is also an All-American and All-Ohio Qualifier in multiple events.

Emily is so grateful for her 4 years at Dublin Coffman. This season has been especially fun; sharing it with her sister, Jessica, who is a freshman on the team. She owes so much of her success to not only her supportive teammates and family, but also her Coach of many years, Coach Mark Birnbrich. He has helped her reach these high-level goals by helping her grow both mentally and physically (in and out of the pool)

Emily is so excited to head to Knoxville in the Fall of 2024 where she will continue her academic and swimming career at the University of Tennessee.
