Austin Carpenter

The Poseidon Award

2024-2025 Season

Austin Carpenter is the 2025 recipient of The Poseidon Award presented by swimmeet.com to the top male high school swimmer in Ohio for the 2024-2025 season based on the Power Points 100.

This is Austin's second Poseidon Award.

Austin will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from swimmeet.com.

Austin is a Junior at St. Charles Prepartory School in Columbus, OH and is the 2025 Boys D1 100 Freestyle state champion as a member of the 2025 Boys D1 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle state champion relays.

Kyle Goodrich, Austin's coach at St. Charles, has this to say about the 2025 Poseidon award winner:

"When writing about Austin Carpenter winning the Poseidon Award last season, I concluded by stating: "I can't wait to see what he does in the future!"

Even though we're only one year into 'the future', Austin has accomplished some pretty remarkable accolades over the last 12 months.

He led St. Charles to the 2025 D1 State Championship, placing first in the Boys D1 200 Medley Relay, Boys D1 100 Freestyle, and Boys D1 400 Freestyle Relay. He also finished second in the Boys D1 100 Breaststroke.

Austin finished as the 2024 runner-up in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Freestyle at the USA Swimming Junior Nationals in December. He also just missed qualifying for the 2024 Olympic Trials in the 50 Freestyle (by .07 second) last summer.

In addition, Austin was named to the USA Swimming National Select Camp in January.

It's been a lot of fun sharing this journey with Austin. I'll finish by writing that I still can't wait to see what he does in the future!"
