Cincinnati St. Xavier
- The junior led St. Xavier to a state record 394 team points and did so by becoming the 4th boys’ swimmer in Ohio history to win all 4 of his events at the state meet. He set a new state record in both the 100 Backstroke (48.15), and 100 Butterfly (48.31) and those times were ranked 2nd and 3rd nationally. His 50 Backstroke leadoff leg on St. Xavier’s state record setting and national title 200 Medley Relay was a 22.00 that is thought to be a national record, and he also split 44.48 on St. Xavier’s champion 400 Freestyle Relay that was ranked 2nd nationally.

- The senior was state champion in the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke with times of 1:47.63 and 55.10 that were ranked 1st and 3rd nationally. Both of those swims were state records. He broke another state record splitting 24.64 on Firestone’s national runner-up 200 Medley Relay that was a second under the previous state record, and he split 44.5 on Firestone’s 3rd place 400 Freestyle Relay that was ranked 4th nationally.

- The senior tied numerous records by successfully completing a ‘threepeat’ in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle. His 1:37.54 and 4:25.20 times were ranked 2nd and 4th, nationally, and he had a 44.5 split on Sycamore’s 400 Freestyle Relay. He graduates having tied the record for most individual wins with 6.

- The junior was state champion in the 100 Freestyle (45.06) and runner-up in the 200 Freestyle (1:37.66). Including his 20.44 leadoff leg on one of Upper Arlington’s 200 Freestyle Relays, he had national ranks of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the 50, 100, and 200 Freestyle, meaning he scored more national points than any swimmer in the country this season! He also anchored Upper Arlington’s 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay teams at state finals in times of 19.75 and 43.98.

Cleveland St. Ignatius
- The senior was state runner-up in both the 100 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, and anchored St. Ignatius to a state title in the 200 Freestyle Relay and runner-up finish in the 400 Freestyle Relay. His individual times of 45.07 in the 100 Freestyle and 49.44 in the 100 Butterfly were ranked 3rd and 9th, nationally, while he anchored St. Ignatius’ 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays in times of 20.13 and 43.62, the latter being a state record.

- The senior was 3rd at state in both the 100 and 200 Freestyle, going times of 45.14 and 1:39.38 that were ranked 4th and 5th nationally. He also anchored St. Charles’ 400 Freestyle Relay with a 44.20 split.

Cincinnati St. Xavier
- The senior was runner-up in the 50 Freestyle, 5th in the 100 Freestyle, and was part of St. Xavier’s 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 20.80 and 45.63 times in the 50 and 100 Freestyle were 10th and 14th, nationally, and his 21.87 butterfly split on the 200 Medley Relay was key in them setting a new state record.

- The sophomore misses the all-star team because he only had a single individual event and finished runner up, but in that 100 Butterfly, his 49.62 time was 10th best in the nation, and he was also part of Firestone’s 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd place relays (200 Medley, 200 and 400 Freestyle) splitting 21.91 (butterfly), 20.54, and 46.21 (leadoff), respectively).
2001
- Jayme Cramer (3)

Cincinnati St. Xavier
- The senior wins his 2nd straight Gold Star after leading St. Xavier to their 3rd national title by winning all 4 of his events at the state meet for a record 2nd straight year. He was champion in the 100 Butterfly (2nd straight), 100 Backstroke (3rd straight), and 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay. He again set state records in the 100 Butterfly and Backstroke (identical 47.65 times) and with his butterfly split in the 200 Medley Relay (21.15). Both of those relays and his 2 individual swims were the top times in the nation this year, making him the first boys’ swimmer in national history with such a distinction.

- The senior was state champion in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle Relay, and 400 Freestyle Relay, making him the 5th swimmer in state history to win all 4 events at the state meet. His 1:37.78 time in the 200 Freestyle was the 2nd best in the nation this year, while his 100 Freestyle time of 45.17 was 6th best. He also had a 20.9 All-American leadoff split helping St. Xavier win the 200 Freestyle Relay and split 44.52 on St. Xavier’s national title winning 400 Freestyle Relay.

- The senior led Firestone to the national team title. He was state champion in the 200 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 400 Freestyle Relay, and was runner-up in the 200 Freestyle Relay. His times of 1:38.32 and 45.51 in those respective individual events were ranked 5th and 13th nationally, and his 20.26 and 44.88 anchor splits on the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays helped Firestone to national ranks of 9th and 2nd, respectively.

- The senior makes his 2nd all-star team and first since 2000 after coming through in the 200 IM for his first state title, and he was also 2nd in the 500 Freestyle. His 200 IM time of 1:50.07 was 8th best in the country this year and won the state title by over 3 seconds.

- The sophomore was state champion in the 100 Butterfly, 3rd in the 200 Freestyle, and led off St. Xavier’s state title winning 200 Freestyle Relay and runner-up 400 Freestyle Relay. His 100 Butterfly time of 49.41 was ranked 8th in the nation this year.

- The freshman was state champion in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Medley Relay. His 56.46 time in the 100 Breaststroke was 7th in the nation this year, making him the highest nationally scoring freshman ever and just the 5th to win a state title since 1970.

- The junior was state champion in the 50 Freestyle and runner-up in the 100 Freestyle. His times, although not Top-16 nationally scoring, were both All-American and top 23 in the country.

- The senior was runner-up for the 3rd straight year in the 100 Backstroke, finished 5th in the 100 Butterfly, and was part of St. Xavier’s runner-up 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relays.

- The senior was runner-up in the 100 Butterfly with the nation’s 13th best time, and he split 21.91 (butterfly) and 45.43 on Firestone’s state title winning and national runner-up 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relays, but misses the all-star team for only scoring 26 state level points (Hardesty in 10th place scored 31).
2003
- Tyler O’Halloran (2)

Youngstown Boardman
- The senior successfully defended his 50 Freestyle State title (20.61) and won the 100 Freestyle (45.11). His times were both the 11th best in the country but he was more versatile than that. After beating the 100 Butterfly and 100 Breaststroke state champions in their best events during the regular season, O’Halloran split a 24.89 in the 50 Breaststroke at the state meet that was the 2nd best in state history.

- The junior successfully defended his state title in the 100 Butterfly, finished 3rd in the 200 Freestyle, and was state champion in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay. His 48.66 best time in the 100 Butterfly was 3rd best in the nation this year and those relays were ranked 5th and 2nd, nationally.

- The senior was state champion in the 200 IM, finished 4th in the 100 Freestyle, and was the anchor on St. Xavier’s state title winning 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays which were the 5th and 2nd fastest in the nation, respectively. His 1:50.71 time in the 200 IM was 9th fastest in the nation this year.

- The sophomore was state champion in the 100 Backstroke, finished 6th in the 100 Freestyle, and was part of St. Xavier’s state title winning 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His best 100 Backstroke time of 50.67 was 12th best in the nation this year, and those relays were ranked 3rd and 2nd in the nation, respectively.

- The senior led St. Xavier to their 6th straight victory over a charging Upper Arlington team. He won the 100 Butterfly (record 3rd straight), 100 Freestyle, and the 200 Medley Relay. His 48.29 time in the 100 Butterfly was the top time in the nation and 2nd best in Ohio history, while his 45.21 time in the 100 Freestyle was 5th best in the country. His 21.75 split on the butterfly leg of the 200 Medley Relay makes him 2nd best in Ohio history in that, and he anchored St. Xavier’s runner-up 400 Freestyle Relay in a 44.29.

- The senior was state champion in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle, the latter being a title defense. His times of 1:37.84 and 4:24.11 were both the top times in the nation this season, and that 500 Freestyle time was 2nd best in Ohio history.

- The senior was state champion in the 100 Backstroke and runner-up in the 100 Butterfly. His 48.95 time in the 100 Backstroke was 3rd best in the country and Ohio history, and his 49.31 time in the 100 Butterfly was 7th best, nationally.

- The junior was state champion in the 200 IM, runner-up in the 100 Backstroke, and split 44.95 to hold off St. Xavier and win the 400 Freestyle Relay. His 1:49.98 time in the 200 IM and 49.35 time in the 100 Backstroke were both 7th best in the nation this year, and he also split 25.29 on the breaststroke leg of Upper Arlington’s 2nd place 200 Medley Relay.

- The senior was state champion in the 50 Freestyle and runner-up in the 100 Freestyle. His best times of 20.19 in the 50 Freestyle and 45.45 in the 100 Freestyle were ranked 2nd and 9th, nationally, and he had a state-best split of 19.86 in the 200 Freestyle Relay (districts).

- The junior was runner-up in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle. His times of 1:38.74 and 4:29.38 were both ranked 4th in the nation this year.

- The senior was runner-up in both the 200 IM and 100 Breaststroke. His 56.97 time in the 100 Breaststroke was ranked 12th nationally.

- The senior was runner-up in the 50 Freestyle, 4th in the 100 Freestyle, and was part of Upper Arlington’s state title winning 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 50 Freestyle time this year of 20.63 was ranked 11th in the nation.

- With his win in the 100 Breaststroke, the senior became the first boys’ swimmer in the 77-year history of the state meet to win the same event for 4 straight years. He broke Olympian Mark Gangloff’s state record at the prelims with a 55.03, and then swam a 54.70 at finals which gave him the top time in the nation this year. He also was 4th in the 200 IM, and on Firestone’s 200 Medley Relay he split a 24.80 on the breaststroke leg; the 2nd best in Ohio history.

- The senior was state champion in the 200 and 500 Freestyle and was part of 2 medal winning relays. His 200 Freestyle time of 1:38.30 was 5th best in the nation, his 500 Freestyle time of 4:27.93 was 4th best, and his 45.64 leadoff leg of the 400 Freestyle Relay gave him the nation’s 12th best time in the 100 Freestyle.

- The senior led St. Xavier to their 7th straight state title in what was the closest state meet since 1997. He was state champion in the 100 Freestyle, 100 Backstroke, and was the primary swimmer on St. Xavier’s runner-up 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 49.66 time in the 100 Backstroke was 3rd best in the country while his 45.85 in the 100 Freestyle was 17th best.

- The senior repeated as state champion in the 200 IM, was 2nd in the 100 Backstroke, and was part of Upper Arlington’s state title winning 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 200 IM time of 1:48.22 was the top time in the nation this year, his 49.83 time in the 100 Backstroke was 7th, and helped by his 25.3 breaststroke leg and 44.6 anchor leg, his 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams were ranked 1st and 5th, nationally.

- The sophomore was state champion in the 100 Butterfly, runner-up in the 500 Freestyle, and was part of St. Xavier’s runner-up 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 22.28 split in the butterfly leg of the 200 Medley Relay was fastest in Ohio this year, his 500 Freestyle time of 4:29.77 was 10th best in the nation, and his 49.86 best time in that 100 Butterfly was 20th best.

- The junior was runner-up in the 100 Freestyle and 5th in the 200 Freestyle. His 200 Freestyle Relay leadoff split of 20.99 was the 2nd fastest 50 Freestyle time in Ohio this year.

- The sophomore was huge for St. Xavier, finishing 4th in both the 200 and 500 Freestyle.

- The senior was state champion in the 50 Freestyle. He also had an anchor split on Centerville’s district 200 Medley Relay of 19.95.

Westerville Central
- The junior was state champion in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Freestyle. His 100 Butterfly time of 48.44 was 3rd best in the country and Ohio history, while his 100 Freestyle time of 44.94 was 5th in the country and the first 44-second flat-start time in Canton’s pool since Tony Kurth in 1999.

- The junior was state champion in the 500 Freestyle, runner-up in the 100 Butterfly, and was the primary swimmer on St. Xavier’s state title winning 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. His 4:28.52 time in the 500 Freestyle was 12th best in the country, as was his in-season best 200 Freestyle time of 1:39.93. His 22.26 butterfly split on the 200 Medley Relay and his 45.31 anchor on the 400 Freestyle Relay were tops in the state.

- The senior was state and national champion in both the 100 Freestyle and 100 butterfly, tying Olympian Nate Dusing’s 1997 national record in the latter with a 47.10 time. His 43.93 in the 100 Freestyle was also one of the best times in national history, and he was the top national recruit in 4 different events this year.

- The senior led St. Xavier to a 9th straight title while winning all 4 of his events: the 200 and 500 Freestyle, 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle Relay. His 1:37.97 in the 200 Freestyle won by over 4 seconds, and his 4:20.56 in the 500 Freestyle won by a state record 11 seconds. Both of those times won the national title this year, and his 500 Freestyle time beat Olympian Dan Ketchum’s state record by over 2 seconds. He also had an in-season 49.33 in the 100 Butterfly that was ranked 11th in the nation.

- The senior was runner-up in the 100 Butterfly and 100 Freestyle, and was part of St. Charles’ state title winning 200 and 400 Freestyle Relay teams. He anchored the final relay in 44.92 which gave St. Charles its first school title and unseated 9x in-a-row champion St. Xavier.
