For those of you who weren't at C.T. Branin Natatorium last night or for those who were and just want to again experience a truly epic race, here's a video of the Boys Division I 400 Freestyle Relay.
Austin Carpenter chasing down St. X on the final lap is something quite extraordinary to watch.
Turn up the sound and watch a piece of history. They'll be talking about this race for years to come!

On behalf of all fans of Ohio high school swimming, a big shout-out to Emily Furlow who's again the photographer taking the great photos of this year's State swimming champions posted on swimmeet.com.
This is Emily's fifth year as swimmeet.com's photographer at the State meet and continues the tradition of swimmeet.com posting photos of all State champions.
Taking photos during the chaotic conditions on deck immediately after a race is extremely difficult and stressful.
Luckily, Emily has the confidence to get the job done and not let anyone push her around.
Thanks again Emily. Another job well done!
- How Big Is 5 Inches?
- Ordinarily, 5 inches isn't much.
Five inches is 12.7 centimeters, five quarters side by side or three golf balls stacked on top of each other.
To most people, 5 inches doesn't mean very much.
And yet.
Last night, 5 inches meant the world to St. Charles and St. Xavier.
Based on Jaeger Ellerman's last 50 split time, when Austin Carpenter touched the wall in the final leg of the Boys D1 400 Freestyle Relay to finish first, Ellerman was a little more than 5 inches behind.
How big is 5 inches?
It' the difference between going home with a State team championship and just going home.

Upper Arlington is the 2025 Girls Division I State Champion with 263.5 points. Mason is runner-up with 195 points.
Columbus St. Charles is the 2025 Boys Division I State Champion with 311 points. Cincinnati St. Xavier is runner-up with 310 points - a 1 point difference!
